Honey Bees Becoming Endangered
There are many types of bees, but the honey bee population is the most valuable. But their population is dropping by great numbers. Many different issues will come up if there are no bees at all. Many humans do not recognize that honey bees are a primary source for plant life such as flowers. Bees are the most effective pollinators and without them we do not have flowers, plants, and vegetables. Humans are not realizing how much the population is decreasing and how terribly it can affect the planet and how we see it.
Honey bees are sometimes feared by humans because of their fierce sting, but that is a stereotype. Honey bees do not want to hurt us, in fact they die after one sting. Without bees our world would eventually die down, many issues come up without bees. For example, we would lose all of the plants that bees pollinate so there would be no cotton to make clothes, medicines would be affected, and there would be no food for animals so no food for humans. Einstein once stated “without bees there’s no pollination ,then no plants, without plants there is no meat, without meat there’s no man”. The population of the bees are dropping in huge numbers. But why some ask? One main cause are parasitic mites like varroa and tracheal mites. Varroa mites live on the external part of the bee and literally sucks the life out of the bee or in other words sucks the blood out Tracheal mites live inside of the bee and benefits from the blood, food, and pollen. Parasites on the bees also affect the honey. Another main cause of the population decreasing are apistan strips. These strips are used to help the bee but actually hurt. A chemical in the strips is called matricide, this is a chemical used to control mite and ticks. Statistics show if bees become an extinct species we would lose thirty percent of the food humans eat. Therefore, bees are becoming endangered and humans need to wake up because it can negatively affect the way humans live.
In conclusion, without bees many things are affected that would eventually affect humans Bees supply most of our primary needs like vegetables, flowers for the yard, cotton for our clothes, and medicine when we are sick. Humans need to realize that bees are one of the main reasons they are living. They need to wake up and help save the bees from becoming extinct.
